One step more……………

With lots of enthusiasm, I reached Hotel Shanker at Lazimpat as today was our most awaited day for all of us Teach For Nepal members i.e. the day of Public Launch. Today was the day when we were making our commitment in front of the whole world to reduce the education inequity prevailing in our country.  It really was an important day.
When I first reached there I saw Shisir dai so much in rush, as this event holds a big importance to him. All were so excited (kabita, prakash, surendra dai, volunteers as well as fellows).

Finally it was 3 p.m. and we were all set, kabita started the event with her speech, then Shisir dai  shared his life story and the existential value of our campaign Teach For Nepal. Our two fellow friends Rojee and Bijaymani shared their feelings about why they chose to be the part of this campaign. We could see all our distinguished guests former vice chancellor of Tribhuwan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema,Ambassador of Finland to Nepal H.E. Askol Luukkainen, Ambassador of United States to Nepal H.E. Peter W. Bodde. We could sense their excitement for the event as well through their expressions and from their words they expressed with us. We also had our leadership team Shekhar Golcha, Gagan Thapa and others. All went good.
We all were happier when we knew our dear Swastika di was there with us whom we were not expecting as she was out of the valley for her another important campaign. But she managed to come there and talked to family members of fellows, which brought smile on all of our faces.

All went of good. But for me the most beautiful moment was when Rojee was giving her speech. This was the beautiful moment for me not because she is one of my best friends but because I saw rays of confidence coming in her. I still remember the day when she was committing that speaking in front of public is her biggest challenge and she was nervous even few minutes before her speech. But as she went there she was just expressing so good. I could see tears on the eyes of Rojee’s parents when she was sharing her story as I was sitting just besides them.
Rojee overcome her biggest challenge and this is all because of what we learnt from Teach For Nepal. Not only Rojee, we all are moving one more step ahead overcoming our challenge. We see possibility within us and our challenges. We all are moving towards our goal.
The event was successful but there may be many responses. Some positive and some negative.. But now it’s the time to show by our actions that we can certainly do that. As we have committed it in front of so many people now we have to become more responsible than before. Among all these I missed my parents a lot as they were not able to come and all others were there with their parents. But I know their blessings are always with me to move forward in the journey of transformation.
